I’m Jess—the woman behind the words.
Welcome to my wanderings through military travels, motherhood, adoption, and faith. I’m married to Dan & together we have 6 kids! Our band of hooligans is not what I imagined God would have in store for me, and I am ever thankful to have been wrong about his plans! God has led us step by step through moves, births, deaths, and foster care and this corner of the internet is meant for me to show you all the good He has done. But also, to show you that all good he has done for those Welshes, he can do for you too.
I pray the words on the pages give thrust to your own wanderings, and that they'd give courage to walk the path Christ has paved only for you.

The Story

This is the anthem of my childhood. My dad would jokingly serenade me as I'd use word after word to try and explain my days. The highs and lows, and all the in-betweens were catalogued in an endless stream of story-telling, and reliving. Not much has changed.
However, what began as an unrefined exercise, God has been using for Himself. Growth in me, love for others, all through words. Over time I've learned to harness them, even if ever so slightly. Now, my words have a focus, a fixed mark. There's a beginning to all my stories, and the end is always the same—Jesus.

He is the beginning and the end of all of it. And while this page may be called "Wanderings of the Welshes" (because who can resist some good alliteration?) we wander with purpose. We are sojourners wandering through the desert on the way to the well that never runs dry. Maybe through these words, you'll find your way to the well too.
